Constitutionality of Czar's

Sen. Robert Byrd's letter to President Obama

"As presidential assistants and advisers, these White House staffers are not accountable for their actions to the Congress, to cabinet officials, and to virtually anyone but the president," Byrd wrote. "They rarely testify before congressional committees, and often shield the information and decision-making process behind the assertion of executive privilege. In too many instances, White House staff have been allowed to inhibit openness and transparency, and reduce accountability."
The West Virginia Democrat on Wednesday asked Obama to "consider the following: that assertions of executive privilege will be made only by the president, or with the president's specific approval; that senior White House personnel will be limited from exercising authority over any person, any program, and any funding within the statutory responsibility of a Senate-confirmed department or agency head; that the president will be responsible for resolving any disagreement between a Senate-confirmed agency or department head and White House staff; and that the lines of authority and responsibility in the administration will be transparent and open to the American public."

For all who hated Bush...

Obama's Budget czar shows the best year will be a deficit of $739 billion in 2015, if everything is as rosy as he says it will be. That's 61% worse than Bush's worst year and that's without universal healthcare and cap and trade. But... it gets worse. Again by Obama's own budget projections, the policies he's already put in will have the deficit getting worse, not better, at the end of projections. Worse in 2016 than 2015. Worse in 2017 than 2016. Worse in 2018 than 2017, and worse in 2019 than 2018

Bush was not my favorte President, but he didn't do to future generations what this President is proposing.

Comments:
Discovered his mantra meaning:
HOPE they let me CHANGE America….Forever

Is there really a health care crisis?

Medicaid is there, and for two bucks, an indigent person can get medical coverage and medicine.
Medicare is there for the elderly. Imperfect, yes—but a subsidized option.
Medicare also has part D coverage and then Drug companies provide discounts and countless ways to save—just by applying through the manufacturer
Illegal aliens can walk into any ER and get treated, and they usually pay nothing! They need furnish no proof that they are citizens.
As it is, Doctor’s pay an insane amount of money to pay off their loans, and exorbitant amounts in malpractice reform. Then, once they are licensed and practicing, they must live with the spiderlike web of red tape that ends up killing the enthusiasm of even the brightest shining prodigy’s.
What this administration wants to do is to mandate a universal plan. The plan might cost 50 billion to one trillion dollars, to cover an additional 44 million Americans. (That number includes illegal aliens, people who can afford insurance and chose not to, and those who are young and would rather not spend money on insurance). Whittiling down the number to a approximate total of legal citizens’ who could not afford , and are truly in need to about 14 million.
The one trillion dollar plan to cover 14 million people will help those people, at the expense of the rest of America. More people would need to be covered, and the prescribers’ would have to take a smaller, negotiated rate for the extra people they see. That is why rationing is a logical next step.
The United States Health Care system is second to none, but has a problem that could save millions of dollars each year. It is not to revamp the system and add another layer of government. It is to stop providing any and all medical care for illegal aliens. The money that could be saved by that alone could provide policies for the 14 million American’s that are in need, and can not afford care.

Thoughts about this administration

He wants our Nation in Chaos
So that he can insert himself into the problem as a savior, a messiah.
He is creating bigger government that will dictate our every move. Whether it is taxing our carbon imprint on greenhouse gasses or telling us what kind of vehicles we will drive.
To dictating an 1,100 page bill on health care full of government bureaucracy and unintended benefits for people who sneak into our country illegally.
He stimulated our economy with money from children who are yet to be born.
He says that his plan is still working, despite plunging ratings, and outrage from Citizens. He is tone deaf and driven to take our money, change this country and leave it in a hole that will be hard to step out of.

Ye Olde Card Check

INTRODUCING THE WORST LEGISLATION IN US HISTORY: Card Check

This is simply the most harmful piece of legislation in American History.

THE BAD NEWS-
  • During his Campaign Obama promised to pass this Law within the first 100 days of his presidency.
  • Biden and Obama are endorsed and funded by powerful labor unions. Biden has positioned himself on the cabinet as the voice of Labor unions and has recently promised to pass this legislation.
  • Labor Unions spent more than 450 million on helping to elect democrats. A slush fund exists to politically ruin any candidate who votes NO on the Legislation after receiving support.
  • The Labor Unions are branding themselves as the heros of the Middle Class.
  • The media is very reluctant to speak out against the unions especially because most media voices are union members.

The bill passed the House 241-185 but was filibustered by Republicans in the Senate. It's a party-line split in the Senate (except for support from Republican Senator Arlen Specter). So the bill would need a Democratic president and something close to 59 Democrats in the Senate in order to pass. We have 58 Democrats.

QUESTION TO OBAMA:
On card-check protection [which would make it easier for unions to organize], we've heard that there might be a delay on that, or it might not be an immediate priority? Also, on NAFTA, we've heard that you might support maybe a study and then a report, instead of a wholesale reworking of the agreement right away?

OBAMA:
Well look, my economic team is reviewing these issues. You know, I've consistently said on trade issues that I want environmental and labor provisions that are enforceable in those trade agreements. But I also have said that I believe in free trade and don't think that we can draw a moat around the American economy. I think that would be a mistake. When it comes to unions, I have consistently said that I want to strengthen the union movement in this country and put an end to the kinds of barriers and roadblocks that are in the way of workers legitimately coming together in order to form a union and bargain collectively. My economic team is going to put together a package on trade and on worker issues that will be presented to me. I don't want to anticipate right now what sequences will be on these issues.

Small Business Issues in the Ballot Box: the Employee Free Choice Act
This election could end up changing labor laws to a great degree
By Matthew Bandyk
October 31, 2008

In terms of the issues that small-business owners belonging to any political party care about most, labor is one of the least talked about, taking a back seat to general economic issues, tax policy, energy, and health. But the results of this election could make the difference for the passage of what many observers are calling the most sweeping change in labor laws in 70 years—and one that could affect millions of small businesses for better or worse.

One of the issues where the difference between Republicans and Democrats in this year's election is most stark is the Employee Free Choice Act. The bill contains several provisions that would make it easier for workers to form unions. It passed the House of Representatives on a highly partisan vote in February 2007, but was killed when all the Republicans in the Senate (except Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania) filibustered it, with almost all Senate Democrats supporting the act. But one point on which members of both sides agree is that it is the most significant piece of labor legislation since the National Labor Relations Act of 1935.

Josh Goldstein, spokesman for the labor advocacy nonprofit American Rights at Work, which supports the bill, says, "It's pretty clear that it's one of the most significant reforms of our outdated labor laws." Supporters of the bill say that it is necessary to create a fairer process for forming a union. "It's time to adjust the playing field back to a level where both parties have equal voice," says Goldstein.

Glenn Spencer, executive director of the Workforce Freedom Initiative at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which has strongly opposed the bill, agrees on its significance. "It would be the biggest change since the 1930s," he says. But opponents of the bill argue that it would impose unfair and burdensome costs on businesses of all sizes.

Just how much do small-business owners need to be concerned about the Employee Free Choice Act? Some small-business advocacy groups have stressed its potential costliness. Raymond J. Keating, chief economist for the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council, has said that "in the long run, both business owners and employees would suffer" if the bill was passed because it would "boost costs, restrain productivity," and make businesses "less competitive."

But others say that this is overstating how many businesses the bill would affect. Dawn Rivers Baker, author of the MicroEnterprise Journal, has written that "the vast majority of small businesses [are] just too small to have to worry about" the issue of unionizing.

Some businesses certainly will not be affected. The National Labor Relations Act—which the Employee Free Choice Act amends—applies only to retail businesses with over $500,000 in sales a year (and deals in some products traded over state lines) or nonretail businesses with over $50,000 in sales a year.

The key provision of the Employee Free Choice Act could make it more feasible for the workers of smaller businesses to unionize. Under current law, in order for a union to be recognized at a business, 30 percent of the workers of the business in question must express support for joining a union. This is then followed by a secret ballot election where half of the workers must vote in favor of joining. The Employee Free Choice Act would make this election unnecessary and allow the union to be recognized through a process known as "card check." A majority of workers simply need to sign cards expressing their intent to join the union, and this process need not be secret. At a business with just 20 workers, "you could get 11 people to sign [cards] in a half-hour," says Spencer.

Todd Steenson, a partner in labor employment at the law firm Holland & Knight in Chicago, says that this easier process would allow unions to be formed at businesses where they could not before. "It's going to cost them money to go out and organize. There is going to be diminishing returns [for a union] when a business gets small enough." But allowing card check, he says, would reduce those costs of organizing and thus make it worth it for unions to look at smaller employers. Steenson says this is especially true in the case of retail businesses, because they cannot move overseas if they do not like U.S. labor laws.

Appropriations Porkie Pie

Omnibus Appropriations Package
A.K.A. Porkie Pot Pie #2 HR 1105

Congress boondoggles taxpayers by serving up epic appropriations pork pie

Adding new policy changes to appropriations packages is illegal according to Ethics in Government Act of 1978 and Title 18 of the US Code. But some frisky congressmen and senators have tossed those pesky regulations aside. To them, this legislation is a great opportunity to push into law and fund their most controversial pet programs which would otherwise get killed during debate. Since Obama is chomping at the bit to sign another massive spending package, Congress is is hoping the massive bill will get passed like the last one: In record time, full of pork, with no time to read.

So What does the latest $410,000,000 Bill Buy us? Here’s some highlights
  • 8,570 known earmarks totaling more than $7.7 billion
  • Foreign policy changes with Cuba
  • Inviting select Palestinians to patriate to US
  • A comprehensive expensive program to micro-chip every single turkey, chicken, goat, cow, horse, dog, cat, duck in the United States.
  • $75 Million to Gaza strip run by Hamas
  • $1.5 Billion to Egypt
  • $500 Million to Jordan
  • $20 Million to continue to ‘pretty up’ the White House and outfit it with state of the art flat screen TV’s, fancy lighting, sound systems and entertainment.
  • $2 Million to control pig odor (no joke)

ECONOMIC STIMULATION STYMIED!
The trillion dollar Stimulus Package on the Senate Floor is disgraceful. It is utterly loaded with special interest projects. It bloats the federal government to record levels without achieving its objective! America lost 2.6 million jobs in 2008 yet our congress has dedicated over a 1/4 of a billion dollars to special interests earmarks which have absolutely nothing to do with solving the current economic crisis.

A BUZZ IN HOLLYWOOD O’ER THE LAZY RIVER
How will Honey Bee insurance, Hollywood studio incentives and a program to update Mississippi River Computers jumpstart our economy and solve the mortgage crisis? It’s unfathomable that these senators and congressmen would load this bill up with junk and then vote in favor of it!! Sure the bill includes a few solid programs. But that pales in comparison to the amount of absolute PORK in there. We don’t have the cash to spend on these non essential projects. That’s tax payer money!

YO CONGRESS!
Draft a bill that achieves the need!!
We American people are struggling. We don’t need to fatten up our federal government and dole out gifts to special interest groups. We need to jumpstart the economy so banks will start lending again, so Americans can pay their mortgages and car payments and buy new shoes! Just how does pouring vast sums of money into the sex education class, a weather program build millions of jobs, and address the mortgage and housing markets crisis?

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION TO GET CONGRESS TO PRODUCE A BILL THAT SOLVES THE CRISIS
http://www.countryfirstpac.com/petition/economic.aspx

MISSED OPPORTUNITIES
This dreadful economic condition is a tremendous opportunity for our congress to put their interests aside and rebuild the economy. Instead they abused their power by loading it up with programs which do next to nothing to build jobs! Last year alone America lost 2.6 million jobs. Yet the best they can do with 1 trillion dollars is create 600,000 jobs, the lionshare of which are construction/back office federal jobs. Only 3% of the trillion dollars go to small business. Does that make sense? creating a grand total of 600,000 jobs while doing nothing to save the current jobs? How is that going to solve the economic condition when in January alone America lost 526,000 jobs?

MYSTERY ECONOMISTS DRINKING SOME POLITICAL KOOL-AID
Who exactly are these lawmakers consulting in their masterplan to jumpstart the economy? Certainly not Sachs or Rogoff.
You don’t need to be a world class economist to see that this bill will further entrench our county in a deep recession sending us careening toward a neo- depression. We tax payers don’t have the funds to sustain this mish-mash of projects. Lets call on congress to WORK for the American people!!

THE NEW NEW DEAL CREATES BIG BIG PROBLEMS
What turns a recession into a Great depression?

  • higher taxes
  • huge infrastructure projects
  • massive government spending
  • labor law changes
Winston Churchill said “Those who fail to heed the lessons of history will be doomed to repeat it.”

DEAR PRESIDENT
Read your history. Don’t repeat FDR’s mistakes. Learn from them and give an informed, thoughtful and balanced response to this crisis.
